Clip Report

Report received from Greg Andrews, National Manager Elders Premium Wool Services, Newcastle following the sale of the Roseville Park wool clip.

The Roseville Park wool clip has once again demonstrated the characteristics that have stood the clip in such good stead for many years. In particular it must be noted that the micron of the clip has continued to reduce, while fleece weights have continued to increase.

Given very unfavourable seasonal conditions the wools have once again shown their resistance to dust penetration, this ability to be able to trap the dust in the tip has resulted in wool yields well above the average for those wools grown in a similar environment, coupled with this the length (at an average of 93mm) was outstanding. Of note this years clip had superb handling and softness which I feel has been achieved as a result of the

pressure Matthew Coddington and John Williams place on CV and SD of micron. All of these traits which combine to increase the overall value of the wool shorn from each sheep has been achieved whilst retaining the conformation and size that the Roseville Park sheep are famous for.

2010 On-Property Sale Rams

The 2010 on-property ram sale team is promising to be an outstanding team with exceptional wool quality. The biggest feature of this year's sale team is the large frames and hindquarters on the rams. They are carrying more of the true Roseville Park type of stylish wool, which is of 66-64s quality and is deeply crimped, heavy cutting and highly waxed.
